Today I have been experimenting with different techniques in which I could use water to show movement. After looking at the fluidity within the SS 11 collections and at a manipulation in my sketchbook of a dazed and confused editorial, I was really influenced by the effects of water. I started of by just moving some fabric and photographing the interesting shapes.
After this I had an idea to film and photograph the way ink reacts to water, its something I see alot when cleaning my paintbrushes, there is just something very beautiful and serene about the way the ink unfurls itself.
After watching back the footage and finding some music which I felt echoed the swirls I had a play with the same clip and added some effects. I reversed the play and inverted the colour so that it looked like white noise that slowly dissolved. I really liked this effect and from it I have had a couple of ideas for a fashion film.
